The Medicine Ball Band featuring Terrie Odabi

This month's issue of Oakland Magazine features an article about SF Medicine Ball Band leader/founder David Sturdevant, who is bringing a stellar cast to The Back Room.

Vocalist Terrie Odabi has been hailed as "easily the most dynamic blues and soul woman to have emerged in the Bay Area since Etta James came out of the Fillmore District in the 50's." (SFChronicle). The line-up includes saxophonist Nancy Wright (West Coast Blues Society's Sax Player of the Year), Charlie Hickox (New Orleans piano master formerly of the California Honeydrops), Leon Joyce, Jr. (legendary drummer formerly with Ramsey Lewis, Nancy Wilson and more), and David Sturdevant (guitar and harmonica). Everybody sings. And there will be some extra-special guests!

Tickets are $15-$20, sliding scale, and are available in advance at the link below, or at the door the night of the show. Doors open one hour before show time. The Back Room is an all-ages, BYOB (for those 21+) space dedicated to (mostly) acoustic music of all kinds. If you need more information or have any questions, please call us at #510-654-3808
