Join us here at The Back Room for the premiere of our East Bay Singers Showcase, an evening of music designed by and for singers, to promote community among singers, in an environment free from competition and criticism. AND, it is an opportunity for the East Bay audience to hear kick-ass talent!
This month’s Featured Singers are artists widely respected and lauded in their genres: country and bluegrass singer/guitarist Luke Forrest (“16-year-old powerhouse” – Laurie Lewis), performing with banjo/bassist Max Schwartz (currently member of Laurie Lewis and the Right Hands); and jazz vocalist Pamela Joy (Pamela has performed at some of the Bay Area’s premier music venues, including The Plush Room, the Herbst Theatre, Jazz at Pearl’s and The Jazzschool. Her CD I Thought About You, dubbed “a very fine debut album” by KCSM’s Jesse “Chuy” Varela, was recently repackaged for release in Japan by Vivid Sound).
But wait! There’s more! We have 15 additional singers, of all ages (7 yrs and up!), all genres (R&B, rock, jazz, pop, folk, soul, musical, singer/songwriter, blues, bluegrass), singers with amazing backgrounds and stories, singing for one common goal: to share their gifts with a supportive audience, to be seen, heard, and supported.
Doors open at 7pm. Show begins at 7:30, with a community break (for drinks, snacks, etc)* from 8:30-9:00pm. “Late Show” (with Featured Singers) is 9:00-10:30pm. Hosted by Kathi Suprata.
General Admission $8/cash, at the door. If you have any questions or need more information, please call us at #510-654-3808.
*Bring your own beverages and snacks to share at the break, if you’d like.
