“Hot Fun in the Summertime” with Miss Faye Carol, featuring Joe Warner

Faye Carol is one of the premiere vocalists of her time. Her unique style and gift of connecting with her audience is astonishing. This Bay Area living legend remains true to her Mississippi roots, infusing the blues into everything from Cole Porter to Michel Legrand songs.

Ms. Carol began her musical career singing gospel and touring nationally with The Angelaires. She was active in Oakland’s innovative and influential funk scene in the 1960s and early 70s. She soon formed her own trio and won four Cabaret Gold Star Awards. Still
a leader and audience favorite in the jazz, blues, R&B and cabaret worlds, Ms. Carol’s recent honors including 2014 Jazz Journalist Association Bay Area Jazz Hero Award and induction into the Oakland Blues Walk of Fame in 2015.  She has performed with artists such as
Ray Charles, Albert King, Marvin Gaye, Billy Higgins, Rassan Roland Kirk, and has most recently been heard with Marcus Shelby Orchestra, Kito Kamili, Martin Luther, Marc Cary, John Santos, and Howard Wiley.

Her exciting duo collaboration with young pianist Joe Warner covers vast musical ground with remarkable versatility.  They continually dazzle and delight audiences at home and beyond.
