New York-based jazz guitarist and composer Matt Davis will be joined by bassist Shimpei Ogawa. The duo will be performing some of Matt's award-winning original jazz pieces, as well as unique interpretations and arrangements of a wide array of jazz classics. 

Matt is a jazz guitarist, teacher, and composer, hailed as “Inspired” by Downbeat magazine, “incredible” by the Philadelphia Daily News, and “eloquent” by JazzTimes Magazine. Matt performs regularly in and around the NYC area, currently serves as Adjunct Associate Professor of Jazz Guitar Performance at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, and is on the guitar faculty at the Manhattan School of Music Pre-college program. He is also a teaching artist for the New York Pops in New York City. In addition to having studied under the notable jazz educator Dennis Sandole, Matt also earned his bachelors degree in jazz guitar from Temple University in Philadelphia, and his Masters degree from the Manhattan School of Music.
 
Tickets are $15 general admission and $10 for students with ID. Advance tickets are available at the link below, or you may purchase your tickets at the door the night of the show. Doors open one half hour before show time. We accept cash only at the door (ATMs are nearby). 

The Back Room is an all-ages, BYOB (for those 21+) space, dedicated to (mostly) acoustic music of all kinds. You are welcome to bring your own adult beverage with no additional corkage fee.
