While eating a latke at Saul's Delicatessen, Bay Area Storyteller Brady Gill and The Head and the Heart's Josiah Johnson realized that they were trying to do the exact same thing, in very different ways. Both were committed to creating work that revealed our universal connections and experiences while honoring the beauty of how different we all are.
Josiah was doing this through his expanding solo work: deep and soulful ballads that paint our imaginations with rich and emotional landscapes of love, loss and transformation. Brady was doing the same through his Modern Fables, a series of stories that pay homage to the styles of Dr. Seuss and Shel Silverstein, while addressing the joys, challenges and lessons of today. As the last bite of potato pancake was devoured, they pondered what it would look like to combine forces. They decided there's only one way to find out.
Join Brady and Josiah for an unique evening of stories and songs. Together we will explore what brings us together and what is keeping us apart. As we travel between the counterbalancing styles of these two artists, we will be given full access to our shared experience. While this is a performance, it's also a conversation. Throughout the night, the audience will be given opportunities to share with each other and to contribute to the artistic exploration on stage. Come if you have questions to be answered, a heart to be opened, or simply the desire to walk out of a performance feeling completely connected to everyone that you shared it with.
Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 at the door. Advance tickets are available at the link below, or you may purchase your tickets at the door the night of the show. Doors open one half hour before show time. We accept cash only at the door (ATMs are nearby).
