Sable Winters is a singer, songwriter and recording artist whose musical style is a mash-up of jazz, neo-soul, R&B and funk. Her sound is a fusion of influences: described as charming like Sade, with a natural vibrato reminiscent of Sarah Vaughan and the soulfulness of Jill Scott, delivered with the conviction of Abbey Lincoln. Her musical mission is to intellectualize the love experience by way of lyrical storytelling.
The performance will include a series of originals written by Danny Long and P.J. Erickson (who together wrote "Astoria," popularized by Tony Bennett.) Sable will also introduce a few of her own originals, and some Abbey Lincoln classics that are sure to bring back fond memories.
Sharing the stage with Sable Winters is an ensemble of piano (Sam Rudin), acoustic bass (John Hettel), drums (Ruth Price) and featured saxophonist, Charles Unger, who will color the atmosphere with elegance and a touch of attitude.
