High Country Celebrates 50 Years of Bluegrass Music

High Country.jpeg

High Country, the West Coast’s longest-lived bluegrass band, are celebrating their 50th anniversary with this special performance at The Back Room. In addition to the current lineup, there will be a good number of former band members and others who have played with High Country over the years joining the celebration.

The group was formed in 1968 and remains a vital link to the early days of bluegrass in the Bay Area and California. Come and join the happy throng of fans and musicians in marking High Country’s Golden Anniversary.

"One of the lonesomest, hard-drivingest traditional bluegrass bands alive...High Country manages to be fresh and exciting without even the merest nod to modern music." - Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine

Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Advance tickets are available at the link below, or you may purchase your tickets at the door the night of the show. Doors open one half hour before show time. We accept cash only at the door (ATMs are nearby).

The Back Room is an all-ages, BYOB (for those 21+) space, dedicated to (mostly) acoustic music of all kinds. You are welcome to bring your own adult beverage with no additional corkage fee.
