For well on to six decades, Ray Bierl has performed music from across the broad American landscape. Drawing on a wide range of musical genres and styles - cowboy ballads, Appalachian fiddle tunes, traditional folk songs, vintage rock & roll hits, Tin Pan Alley songs and country classics - Ray delivers in the songs he sings a travelog not just of places, but of time, human emotions, and imagination. And he plays a pretty mean fiddle too.
"No one knows how to weave you into a song quite like Ray Bierl." - Tom Waits
"Every song Ray chooses becomes his own, fresh and personal. He's a great storyteller." - Laurie Lewis
"Ray Bierl not only knows how to make a song his own - he knows how to make it yours." - Chuck Poling
Ray's new album, Solo Ray-Easy Street, features thirteen great songs, old and not-so-old, from near and far, sung in an intimate and engaging style with simple yet compelling guitar accompaniment.
