Tenacious, innovative string musicians/dancers, Evie Ladin, Keith Terry and Erik Pearson throw down an unusually entertaining live show with three-part harmony, instrumental chops and sonic surprises.
They are releasing two CDs this year, celebrating both of their musical sides: one totally trad fiddle/banjo duets, Riding the Rooster, and one adventurous originals, Caught On A Wire. Grounded in old-time repertoire, writing clever lyrics with mature arrangements, intermingling music and dance, the performance experience is a stand-out.
“A truly original sound in new old-time Americana,” says fRoots Magazine, while fans remark “your show was by turns whimsical, uplifting, jaw-droppingly brilliant, hilarious, and deeply moving.”
Frank and Allie Lee are a harmony-powered old-time duo. Frank’s nylon string fretless banjo is the dominant instrument, with guitar, slide guitar, and Allie’s banjo and harmonica adding to the musical texture.
Frank and Allie, core duo of longstanding string band The Freight Hoppers, have traveled extensively as touring musicians in their separate bands before joining forces. Together, the couple is a powerhouse.
"Frank and Allie bring a pure and seasoned musicality to beloved old tunes…a sweet, strong vocal sound accompanied by an impressive array of true Americana instruments." - Pete Wernick, Hot Rize
