In her solo show debut, actress, educator and activist Marissa Rudd delves into the complexity of being black, bold and fierce in America. Using personal stories and contemporary classics, she takes the audience on a journey through love, rejection, race, artistry and heartbreak in a performance that ultimately uplifts and reminds us that we have the capacity to move forward from any setback.
A Theatre Bay Area-nominated actress, she has spent the last year performing in regional theaters across the nation. She was recently nominated three times for “Best Actress in a Musical” for her take on Sarah in Ragtime.
“The second Rudd opened her mouth to sing, everything else, from the stage to the outside world, became insignificant. From her first notes to the end of the performance, Rudd’s voice captured the totality of the audience’s attention.” – Daily Californian
