Made up of Grammy-nominated and award-winning musicians from around the Bay Area, Vitamin Em celebrates funk, jazz, R&B, soul and fiddle music with verve and enthusiasm.
From hip-hop inspired originals to artfully remixed fiddle and funk favorites, this group of strings, accordion and bassoon happily deliver concerts that run the musical gamut. They may even sneak a lively classical piece into their line-up. Whatever the genre, Vitamin Em brings irresistible energy and passion to each performance and along the way, fearless improv abounds. If you like to have fun, be exhilarated, and love the groove, this band is for you.
“…love your arrangements and varied song selection. Keep that Vitamin Em music coming!” - Jerry Cortez, guitarist with Tower of Power.
The group features Matthew Szemela and Philip Brezina (violins), Emily Onderdonk (viola), Michael Graham (cello) and Paul Hanson (bassoon).
