d’PaJo is an ensemble that focuses on their mutual love and appreciation for a myriad of musical styles – gypsy jazz, jazz standards, great American songbook, Latin, and any other musical forms that speak to them.
Collectively, d’PaJo members have performed on 4 continents, in 45 different States and a dozen countries. Performances have ranged from clubs and house concerts, to notable venues and festivals such as Yoshi’s, Undercover Presents, the Eastern Music Festival, Strawberry Music Festival, Davies Symphony Hall, and Carnegie Hall to name a few. Most recently, d’PaJo was invited to perform on the San Francisco Symphonies Holiday concerts as guest artists for the 2018-2019 season.
Guitarist Patrick Anseth and Violinist Justin Ouellet - who was recently named “best jazz instrumentalist” by the San Francisco Classical Voice - are both active in the Bay Area scene and perform regularly with artists such as the Nuvo Jazz Quartet, ALQ Quartet, Kev Choice Ensemble, CAPO Ensemble and June & Man. Bassist Joe Kyle Jr. has been active in the Bay Area for more than 20 years, performing in countless bands such as The Americano Social Club, HowellDevine, ALQ Quartet and many many more.
The boys have been busy recording, with two release to be released this fall. First, Patrick Anseth’s CD release party of his solo album, We Need to Talk, will be held at Yoshi’s on 9/24 at 7pm (with Ouellet as a special guest). Second, Justin Ouellet’s debut album, Episodes of an Aquarius, will be released this coming October, with a CD release party TBD.
